Intel unveils its new brand typeface

thumbnailIn Intel’s quest for uniformity and simplicity, Red Peak Branding and Dalton Maag have produced Intel Clear. This new proprietary type family not only works across all global writing systems—including Latin, Greek and Chinese—but it also spans all mediums, such as print, smartphones and tablets.

The font is relaxed, open and approachable, due in part to the relative softness of the lettering. According to Dalton Maag:

If you look at the way the lowercase ‘a’ terminates, there’s a nice feature in the bottom of the stroke, a little like calligraphy pen lettering. We wanted the characters to have a human, friendly quality.

This is Intel’s first font renovation in its 45-year history and is inline with the wider trend of corporations abandoning twentieth century geometric typefaces in favor of a more contemporary calligraphic influence.

The Guardians – A Photographic Project by Vladimir Antaki

The Guardians - A Photographic Project by Vladimir Antaki

I really enjoy a nice personal project. Some people have a great eye for those things and moments others don’t pay much attention to, and as result we are granted the opportunity to experience something unique and precious.

That’s what “The Guardians”, a project by Canadian photographer Vladimir Antaki, is about:

THE GUARDIANS was born from my desire to document and pay tribute to these people, these “guardians of urban temples” that we meet everyday without really noticing. / People pay less and less attention to their environment. They are always in a hurry, they don’t take the time to spend time with one another. Unfortunately, these places will one day no longer be around. This is one of the reasons that compelled me to want to document these “guardians”. – Vladimir Antaki

Check out his amazing take on the everyday urban guardians:

Each picture is taken during my first encounter with the “Guardian”. Once contact is established, a link is created or not. Sometimes I leave with a small gift from the person, an anecdote, or just their portrait . A photographic moment based on a brief exchange with these individuals. I try to make the audience feel the personality of the place and the owner. – Vladimir Antaki
