Beautiful Houses: Estate in Extremadura

I have been doing the Beautiful Houses post for a while now, and I am also a big fan of architecture. And although I browse architecture related sites looking for inspiring houses, every single day I get impressed with new architectural master pieces.

Today we will show you the stylish Extremadura, Spain, a project by Ábaton Architects. This place is pretty unique. The materials, open spaces and flow are great. Definitely a great place to live 😉

Description from the architects:

Located in a privileged environment in the province of Cáceres, the goal was to transform an abandoned stable into a family home by completely renovating it in a way that would be consistent and respectful with the environment. Problems relating to the electricity and water supply were solved through sustainability systems which ABATON uses in all its projects: a solar panel system with storage batteries was developed to supply energy during the summer; turbines were installed taking advantage of the course of the two streams that run through the estate providing electricity for the winter.

Check out Ábaton Architects website for further inspiring projects.

Illusion meets reality

ThumbIt’s not uncommon for those who find themselves working in the creative arts to be thought of as magicians. After all, starting with nothing and winding up with brilliance (after pulling an all-nighter) is sometimes nothing short of supernatural.

But YouTube sensation Brusspup has taken the art of illusion to a whole new level with his mind-blowing work of anamorphic perspective.

In his recently released video, the enigmatic artist shows us unsuspecting viewers a series of household items — think a Rubik’s Cube, roll of tape, and tennis shoe — before pulling the rug out from under us. By simply turning the paper, what our minds believed were three-dimensional objects are revealed to be genius displays of anamorphic art.

Seeing is believing, so take a look for yourself.

Make the magic happen yourself by printing out the same images found in the video, courtesy of Brusspup:
