Alfred Wong born in Hong Kong and educated in Melbourne is one of the most important for the architecture of Singapore. He founded his own firm in 1957 and since then has been working between projects and committees of the Singapore government.
Born in 1930 in Hong Kong, Alfred Wong graduated with honors in Design in 1953 by Melbourne University. In 1957 he founded the firm with the name of Alfred Wong Partnership and had an important role in the development of Singapore. Wong had government role in the 50’s and 60’s where he assumed the SIA presidency (Singapore Institute of Architects) which was the first to receive the Gold Medal.

From the 70’s, Wong was appointed to positions in the Building Energy Conservation Committee, the Public Service Disciplinary Panel, the Ministry of the Architectural Design Panel, among others. In the 90’s, his ability as a human figure continued to be exploited and getting appointments and positions. In 1998 he received the Gold Medal of the SIA, an award given for his lifelong contribution to architecture.
