Partnership between Dea Ecker and Robert Piotrowski, Ecker Architekten office first established in Chicago, focuses its work in Germany.
Dea Ecker studied architecture in Karlsruhe in Germany and after graduated worked in several offices in Germany and the United States, where she did her Masters at llinois Institute of Architecture, in Chicago. Robert Piotrowski graduated in architecture from the State University of New York and did his Masters from Harvard University in Cambridge, where he participated in an exchange program also studying in Zurich, at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

After years of experience working for large offices and Dea and Robert created, in 1998, Piotrowski + Ecker in Chicago with a focus on commercial buildings, construction of schools and universities and interior architecture. Two years later moved their studios to Germany where he formalized the name of the office with Ecker Architekten in the town of Buchen.
