I was first introduced to Alec Soth’s work at SF MOMA around this time last year when his “Sleeping by the Mississippi” project was up at the museum. I was immediately drawn to and fascinated by the realness of his subjects–the haunting lives of modern Americans, and especially the quiet whimsy in his shot of a bearded man holding two model airplanes. Every now and then I see his work floating around the internet and my fascination still stands.
Alec lives in Minnesota. He also runs a business called Little Brown Mushroom. You can check out more from him at his website.
